Biography
Dalcio Machado (Campinas, February 10, 1972), better known as Dalcio, is a cartoonist, cartoonist, caricaturist, author and illustrator of children's books.
He started working as a professional cartoonist at age 13, at age 17 he was hired by Correio Popular newspaper and was awarded for the first time.
He won several times the International Humor Salon of Piracicaba, the most important in Brazil.
He published his works for 13 years in Veja magazine, including creating covers.
One of them received the April Prize for Journalism.
He also created vignettes (the plim-plins) for five years for TV Globo.
He has also published in the two largest Brazilian newspapers, Folha de S.
Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo.
He is one of the most awarded cartoonists in the world, with 116 prizes in 13 countries.
He has received awards at the UN (Lurie UN Award) and three times at the World Press Cartoon Portugal.
In the Oscar of the Brazilian comics, HQMIX, was awarded in five editions.
In 2016, he went to Belgium to receive the 1st place trophy at the 55th International Cartoonfestival Knokke Heist, the most traditional in the world.
He published two children's books, Flubete and Do not.
