The winning works and their owners have been determined in the International Turhan Selçuk Cartoon Competition, which was organized for the 14th time this year by Milas Municipality in memory of Milasli Cartoon Turhan Selçuk and is one of the competitions with the widest participation in Turkey. Mehmet Akif Özdal from Turkey, who drew attention to children's technology addiction, won the first prize.

The works and their owners who received awards within the scope of the International Turhan Selçuk Cartoon Competition, organized for the 14th time this year by Milas Municipality, were determined. On Saturday, May 11, Prof. Dr. Gathered at Aşkıdil Akarca Stage, Turhan Selçuk's wife Ruhan Selçuk, Illustrator Kamil Masaracı, Illustrator İzel Rozental, Illustrator Fahriye Çıtaklı, İpek Özsüslü, Illustrator Eda Uzunoğlu, Illustrator Julie Besombes, Illustrator Simon Baert, Art Educator Prof. Dr. The selection committee, consisting of Süleyman Saim Tekcan and Coordinator Mehmet Nergiz, meticulously evaluated 1535 cartoons sent by 379 cartoonists from 57 countries.

In the evaluation made;

Alireza Pakdel (Iran), the third prize went to Menekşe Çam (Turkey), and the special jury prize went to

Zakir Sargitov (Russia). Open Radio Special Award, Patrick Lamassoure (France), Cumhuriyet Newspaper Special Award, Antonio Rodriguez (Mexico), Labranda Su Special Award, Murat Şeker (Turkey) Milas Cartoon House Special Award, Amir Dehghan (Iran), Schneidertempel Art Center Nahid Maghsoudi (Iran) won the Special Award, and Mehmet Zeber (Turkey) won the Tema Foundation Special Award.

The award ceremony of the 14th International Turhan Selçuk Cartoon Competition will be held in September. The winner of the competition will be awarded 20,000 liras, the second 15,000 liras, and the third 10,000 liras.

Milas Mayor Fevzi Topuz congratulated the award-winning authors and wished them continued success. Mayor Topuz pointed out that this important event, which was first held in 2011 and was held in memory of the famous illustrator Turhan Selçuk, born in Milas, made a splash all over the world and was one of the cartoon competitions with the highest number of works submitted, and said, "With this competition, which has become a common value of Milas, we keep the name of our illustrator from Milas alive. We strive to make Istanbul an art city. “I would like to thank our 379 cartoonists and jury members who sent 1535 cartoons to the 14th International Turhan Selçuk Cartoon Competition and drew attention to social and political issues with creative drawings.” he said.
