Art is a way of expressing the beauty within the pure feeling and states of human. From long time ago, art has been associated with virtue, love and good nature in Iran, and this link to beauty is an essential part of people’s life in this vast country. The cultural capacity of a nation for resilience and durability is obvious to anyone. Although all nations take advantages of their cultures, the shining sun of Iranian culture has been propagating love and friendship through its philanthropy and humanity.

The roots of cultural richness and firmness has been watered by Islamic thoughts and training, which always consider people’s lives and health as their top priority, and brought a wide and delicate training to dear Iranian.

Reviewing all tragedies during the history, one can perceive that many corruptions are the results of not being connected to humanity, morality and culture, thus, wherever science is devoid of morality and culture, it strangles humanity and a new sedition would take place.

Undoubtedly, the contagious of corona virus proved the way to defeat this malignant virus is neither common political power nor economic power, nor the racist thinking of some politicized Western cultures, but the only way to get rid of this virus is to promote the culture of a society, especially the culture and ethics of health cares, and definitely art is one of the most direct and effective ways to develop human culture in an explicit and universal language.

The international contest “With God’s Help We Will Defeat Corona Virus” is the biggest one on the subject of Corona virus, connecting artists to terrified people around the world brought happiness and promoted the spirit of helping others through seeing these worthy artworks.

The presence and participation of artists from 88 countries proved that overcoming difficulties in all fields can only take place through unity and altruism of the inhabitants of the earth.

I would like to appreciate all people collaborated in this great event in Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Hoze-Honari and other organizations that accompanied this great event.

Call for international cartoon and caricature contest “we defeat corona virus” started a few days after the contagious of corona virus. Lifting people’s spirit to fight corona virus, doing our duty to thank health defenders (doctors, nurses, medical staffs), helping people for healthcare guidance, and considering political issues are among the themes of the contests.

The contest received unprecedented welcome from artists around the world from early beginning, during 40 days 923 artists sent us more than 4200 artworks from 88 countries via social network.

That was unprecedented. Artists participation in such a philanthropic event is appreciable. It is also notable that Iran is the first country considered this issue through art.

Most participants came from Iran (436), the second place of participant goes to Turkish artists (83), and Chinese artists had an effective participation (74), at the same time, there was a large presence from Latin America; Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, and European artists from Russia, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine and Italy whose presence is very significant. Due to wide participation, jury members were introduced.

Eray Ozbek, a cartoonist from turkey was selected as a chairman of jury board due to his committed view; Liyui Wang the director of international cartoon contests, UYACC; Nikola Vorotsov, a cartoonist and illustrator from Russia; Marcio Leite from brazil, the director of Brazil cartoon site; Spiro Radulovic director of cartoon association in Europe, Feco, also Mohammad hossein Niroomand, Bahram Azimi, Masoud Shojaei, and Salman Mahzabyeh, the representative of Ministry of Health and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences were from Iran.

Prizes:
