Biography
Ismet Lokman - Turkey
He was born in Bafra in 1938. From an early age I was interested in painting.
The student life passed in Istanbul.
When he was first in the cartoon contest organized by the "Last Posta" newspaper (1954), Bab-i Ali also took his first step.
The aim was to be a comic book graphic or illustrator.
In a short time the child became a permanent member of the page.
He created cartoons, puzzles, stories and made a comic book.
From time to time, he drew political cartoons on the main page.
In the following years, the works of the artist, who also worked in graphic arts and paintings, appeared in various magazines and publications.
His current name is Mimar Sinan University (1963), where he completed the Department of Interior Architecture at the State Academy of Fine Arts. During her student days she received a grand prize in the project competition organized for the foundation anniversary of the academy.
The second prize was also the owner of the banner study.
Having received a diploma from the Goethe Institute in Goethe Institut in Germany, Lokman holds many national and international awards for cartoons.
He continues his life in Istanbul and participates in mixed cartoon exhibitions and also works on watercolor paintings.
Ismet Lokman's caricature adventure, which started in Istanbul in 1954, celebrates its 54th anniversary with this exhibition in Eskisehir.
Ismet Lokman began to send cartoons to the contests opened in a quiet and humble work. Succeeded with prizes.
Ismet Lokman has announced his name with the awards he has won from home and abroad.
He has won prizes in the most prestigious contests of the cartoon world in Bulgaria, Japan, Belgium.
He has achieved top ratings in many competitions in Turkey.
These award-winning cartoons were collected in an album by the Cartoonists' Association in 1993.
Lokman, who donated 45 books in his library to Anadolu University Cartoon Art Research and Application Center for the benefit of the researchers, meets Eskisehirli art lovers at Anadolu University Educational Caricatures Museum.
