Personal exhibition “Mestizo” by the artist Arístides Hernández, Ares

The exhibition, curated by Meira Marrero, is made up of more than twenty pieces made in Cuba and Brazil that include graphic humor, painting, sculpture, assembly and installation.
According to Art History professor Odette Bello, “they are part of the artist's most recent production and a summary of his concerns, the constant process of search and reflection about his identity, about the history that conditions him and that "It has determined the current geopolitical configuration of the world... Ares proposes to review history and question hegemonic and civilizational Western stories, revealing the episodes that are omitted in epic macrostories."
🇨🇺🇧🇷 The exhibition is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, its art gallery management Collage Habana, Gallery 23 and 12 and the Brazilian Institute of Art Sacatar. It will be open to the public until next October.
