Ancestral know-how, traditions, respectful bonds with nature
Contemporary challenges: climate change, land pressure, coexistence with wildlife, policies, economics, youth interest
Environmental aspects: grazing’s role in landscapes, fire prevention, biodiversity (and risks of poor management)
Social/cultural facets: regional identity, conflicts of use, rural tourism
The farmer/herder: solitude, constraints, custodianship of knowledge, bond with animals
Animal welfare in extensive systems
Press-drawing angle: satire of ideals vs. realities, policy contradictions, regulatory absurdities, key issues for the future of pastoralism, and memorable characters of the pastoral world

Rights
Given the event’s general-interest purpose, participants agree not to claim copyright on publications issued as part of Désertif’actions 2026 and its aftermath.
Authors authorize free use of the drawings by the summit organizers for general-interest purposes only, with author credit.
Exhibition
Top 30 drawings (selected by the jury) will be printed and publicly exhibited at Désertif’actions 2026 (25–28 March 2026, Djerba, Tunisia).
They may later be used for educational/awareness activities at non-profit events of general interest.
