Power Actors and a New Global Order
The global order is changing as old power structures shift and new actors emerge People in the Global South are especially affected yet their perspectives on climate resources debt migration and power are often underrepresented

The competition invites cartoons that critically and thoughtfully address how the new world order affects the Global South who organizes the world and who is overlooked whose interests truly matter and how these issues are represented in the media

Regulations
The competition is open to all cartoonists
Each participant may submit a maximum of three original works
Submitted works must not have been entered in other competitions
Captions may be written in German Spanish or English
Technique is free analog or digital
Format A4 210 x 297 mm unframed
Digital files must be JPG or PNG 300 dpi file size between 1 and 15 MB

The envelope must be marked Erklärs mal einfach
Each submission must include name address email phone number short biography maximum one A4 page and a photo or self caricature
Original works will be returned only upon explicit request and with a self addressed stamped envelope

AI Generated Works
The use of generative AI systems for creating or substantially modifying artworks is not permitted
Only works created predominantly without AI assistance and based on the artists own creative effort are eligible
The organizer may request proof of the creation process
Any violation of these rules will result in disqualification

Prizes
First Prize 1000 Euro
Second Prize 500 Euro
Third Prize 300 Euro

Special Prize
Audience Award 200 Euro

Audience Award
The Audience Award allows the public to vote for their favorite cartoon
Voting takes place by email after the submission deadline
Each email counts as one vote
Voting period July 1 to August 1
Awarded original works become the property of the organizer
Selected works will be exhibited and published in the competition catalog
Each artist featured in the catalog will receive a free copy

Rights and Use
By submitting their work participants grant the organizer the right to use the artworks free of charge for exhibition catalog public relations and Talide e V projects in print and digital media
Copyright remains entirely with the artist
The participant guarantees that the work does not infringe third party rights

Organization and Jury
Winners will be selected by an independent jury
The organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the competition
Legal recourse is excluded
