The Sejong Webtoon Campus invites cartoonists from around the world to participate in the 2026 Sejong International Cartoon Contest (SICACO)

ROBOT & HUMAN
The theme asks cartoonists to answer one question in a single-panel cartoon: What happens when the machine meets the human?
Deadline
September 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. KST (Korea Standard Time)
Eligibility
The competition is open to anyone from anywhere in the world, regardless of age
Each participant may submit a maximum of 3 works
Joint entries are permitted, but the representative author must be clearly identified
The prize and certificate will be issued to the representative author
Format
Single-panel cartoon
A3 size (297 × 420 mm) or smaller
Both hand-drawn originals and fully digital works are accepted
Digital works must be submitted as JPG at 300 dpi or higher
Hand-drawn works must be scanned at 300 dpi or higher
Required Documents
Two items are mandatory
Application form using the official template without modification
One artwork file for each submitted work
Every field on the application form must be completed. Write “N/A” where a field does not apply

Postal submissions should be sent by airmail, which generally takes approximately 5–9 days
The artwork must arrive by the deadline. The postmark date is not considered
Awards
Grand Prize – Mayor of Sejong Special Self-Governing City: US$1,000
Gold Prize – President of Sejong Technopark: US$750
Silver Prize – President of Sejong Technopark: US$500
Bronze Prize – President of Sejong Technopark: US$400
Honourable Mention – President of Sejong Technopark: Certificate
Award titles and awarding institutions may be subject to change
Prize money will be paid in Korean won according to the exchange rate applicable on the date of the award
Taxes and other public charges are the responsibility of the recipient
Winning works will be exhibited at the SICACO exhibition in early October 2026
Judging
The competition will be judged in two rounds using a 100-point scoring system
A jury of five to seven specialists will review all submitted works
The first round will shortlist approximately the top 20% of entries
In the second round, the jury will deliberate on the shortlisted works
The highest and lowest scores will be excluded when calculating the final average
An average score of 70 points or higher is required to pass the second round
Entrant Responsibilities
Participants are responsible for any disadvantages resulting from failure to understand or comply with the regulations
All costs related to participation are the responsibility of the entrant
Documents received after the submission period will not be accepted
If false information is discovered in the submitted documents, the participant’s eligibility will be revoked and Sejong Technopark may seek compensation for damages, with all related costs borne by the entrant
