Categories: Cartoon – Press Professionals; Caricature – Free Theme (vertical); Thematic Caricature – Geraldo Rodrigues de Carvalho “Geraldo Ratão”, a distinguished person from Caratinga (vertical).
Theme Description: The competition invites artists to take a critical, humorous and intelligent look at journalists, reporters, photographers, cameramen, cartoonists, illustrators, editors, broadcasters and other media professionals. The theme addresses their role in democratic societies, freedom of expression, ethics, editorial independence, misinformation, social media, artificial intelligence, censorship, political and economic pressures, and the relationship between information, power, truth and society.
Participation: Artists of any nationality, amateur or professional, aged 18 or over, may participate. Each participant may submit one unpublished work in each category. Works that have received an award before the closing date of registration are not eligible.
Entry Form: The registration form must be submitted as an A3 JPG file at 300 DPI.

Technique and Dimensions: 30 × 40 cm. Works must be original and unpublished. Technique is free. Works printed on A3 coated paper are also accepted. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not permitted.
Prizes: R$1,000 for the first-place winner in each of the three categories, for a total of R$3,000. The prize money is the responsibility of the Municipality of Caratinga.
Trophies: Trophies will be awarded to the three first-place winners in each category.
Honorable Mentions: Three Honorable Mentions in each category, with certificates.
Additional Awards: The organizers may establish additional prizes and honorable mentions. An artist cannot receive more than one prize in the same category. If this occurs, the prize will be awarded to the next highest-ranked artist.
Important for International Participants: Entries from outside Brazil must provide a banking institution with a branch in Brazil.
Jury: There will be a selection jury and an awards jury composed of qualified professionals in the field. The awards jury may withhold prizes from categories that do not reach a sufficient artistic level and may transfer the prize to another category or establish a special Salon award. In cases of irregularity, fraud or plagiarism, a prize may be cancelled and awarded to the next-ranked artist.
Rights and Collection: All submitted works, whether awarded or not, become part of the collection of the Associação Estação Cultural de Caratinga and the Caratinga Humor Salon. They may be used in traveling exhibitions and for promotion through print, television and electronic media, as well as in books and magazines.
By entering the competition, artists agree to the regulations and automatically grant the organization the copyright and usage rights specified in the regulations, in accordance with Brazilian Copyright Law No. 9,610 of February 1998.
