Biography
Tošo Borković is a distinguished Serbian cartoonist, caricaturist and illustrator, born in 1953 in Han Pijesak. He moved to Ruma, Serbia, in 1960 and began his professional career at the Belgrade daily Večernje novosti. His works have been published in numerous newspapers, magazines and books in Serbia and abroad.
Throughout his career, Borković has received more than 80 international awards and recognitions, including the Golden Palm of Bordighera, Gold Medals in Tokyo and São Paulo, several Pjer Awards, the Grand Prix in Romania, and many other distinctions.
In 2017, he won First Prize in the Thematic Cartoon Section of the 11th Tehran International Cartoon Biennial.
In the 12th Tehran International Cartoon & Caricature Biennial, held in 2025–2026, he won First Prize in the Comic Strip section.
His distinctive visual language is characterized by simplicity, economy, humor and wordless storytelling, making him one of the notable figures of contemporary Serbian cartooning.
