Biography
Leo Arias has worked professionally as an illustrator of children's books and print media since 1992, with more than 150 published titles to his name. His work has been recognized and published in Argentina, Spain, France, and Uruguay, earning numerous awards and appearing in multiple international editions.
For more than 17 years, he created and illustrated the comic strip El Perro de la Esquina ("The Dog on the Corner") for Billiken magazine, where it became one of the publication's most iconic and beloved features, remembered by generations of readers.
In 2006, he published his best-known work, Federico, a children's book that received several awards and has remained continuously in print ever since. With annual reprints through 2023, it has established itself as a modern classic of Argentine children's literature.
His most recent book, Pizza Popotama, was published in 2021 by Éditions Bang (France) and has gained significant international recognition. It was selected for the Montreuil Children's Book Fair, one of Europe's most prestigious events dedicated to children's literature.
