Biography
He was born in Akçaabat district of Trabzon in 1961.
He graduated from AU Public Relations Department. His first caricature was published in 1981.
He opened 1 personal exhibition, participated in about 50 common and mixed cartoons. His cartoons started to be published in the Black Sea and North News Newspapers between 1981-1988.
He prepared the humor page of "WAVE", "WAVE" humor page and culture and art page of İlkhaber Newspaper between 2006-2008. Karadeniz Newspaper Taka National cartoon contest 6 between 1993-1998, Trabzon Municipality National cartoon contest between 1997-2003 and 8 in 2009, Maçka Municipality provided the National Cartoon Competition to be organized twice between 2006-2007. Since 1999, the Cartoonists Association started theoretical and practical cartoon education studies in Trabzon Representation and schools. He continues to carry out these works in primary schools by projecting them under the title of “We Are Looking For Cartoonists of Tomorrow”.
He prepared and presented a culture and art program called “İMGE” one day a week on Zigana TV between the years of 2000-2001.
He pioneered and edited the 12-page "Nettle Humor Newspaper" published every 15 days with illustrators. Between 2006 and 2008, he worked as a visual director and page director in İlkhaber Newspaper.
Between 2002-2006, he wrote weekly columns under the title of “City Diary” in Taka Newspaper, in the Journal of İlkhaber in 2006-2008, in Günebakış Newspaper in 2008-2012. In 2006, he founded the Trabzon Art Platform, leading the gathering of art associations in Trabzon, and as a result of his work with the associations of this platform, he established the former governor mansion as the “Trabzon Sanatevi” and became the first founding president. In 2009, along with cartoonist Bülent Sümer, his book titled “A Ziya in Cartoon”, which describes the art life of cartoon artist Ziya Ramoğlu, was published and prepared the documentary with the same name.
In 2011, his second book titled “I had a Kalekapım” was published in the district books series of Trabzon. His cartoons, articles and interviews were published in many local and national newspapers and magazines. He received a plaque of honor, certificates of appreciation and thanks for his support of the events. His works were exhibited in national and international competitions and he was included in albums. He received 11 awards in these competitions. He became a jury member in the national cartoon competitions organized in the country.
He is a member of Trabzon City Council Executive Committee, a member of Trabzon Municipality Cultural Research Board, Cartoonists Association. He is still the Trabzon Representative of the Cartoonists Association, the president of the Trabzon Art House Association and the Humor Art Association.
