Ismet Voljevica died in 2008 in Zagreb after a long illness
He was born in 18th July 1922 in Mostar.
He finished high school in Sarajevo and Architecture faculty in Zagreb
As a student he began to cooperate in the comic magazine " Kerempth". Then he worked for " Crgu"
Without interruption full 39 years while publishing with other dailies and magazines
Ismet Voljevica is one of the most prominent cartoonists from the former Yugoslavia
Among others he was the winner of the Grand Prix of the world festival of Cartoon in Montreal 1974 and 3 awards from Croatia Journalists Association in 1950, 1965, 1967
He also won the " Otokar Kersovani" ( Life Work) award in 1980
In 2004 he received the award of Miaden Basic Bibi for the development of the Croatia Cartoon Association ( DHK) which he was a member zince 1985
