Oscar Martin has been an artist and writer of ‘Tom and Jerry’ stories from 1986. His comics have been published all over Europe and the USA. He inititially drew ‘Tom and Jerry’ stories for the German publisher Condor, and later for the Swedish Semic Press. He has also done a variety of comics for the French Disney magazine Le Journal de Mickey, followed by numerous ‘Lion King’ ‘Simba’ stories for Egmont in Denmark. From 1997, his ‘Tom and Jerry’ production was also transfered to Egmont. Martin has also drawn for the Rolf Kauka’s ‘Fix und Foxi’ in Germany.
In 1992, he created his own serial, ‘The Terrifying World of Bobby’ for Semic Press. The same year, he did the comic album ‘Zona X’ at Ediciones El Jueves. He created the Oscar Studios in 1998, continuing the ‘Terryfying World of Bobby’ series and creating ‘Solo’. From 2001, he did several ‘Woody Woodpecker’ stories for Egmont. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Warner Bros for his work on the ‘Tom and Jerry’ series in 2002.
