Kudalayya Hiremath has chosen watercolor as his medium of expression.
His vibrant strokes have earned him several awards in various local and state level competitions. These include, apart from the first prizes in the college competitions (2005, 2006), the Best Portrait Award of Chitari Academy (2008), Award for water color painting in Pune Festival (2009), Qualification for the 2013 International Watercolor Catalog and the Bombay Art Society Award for Watercolor Painting 2013 and many more.

Portraits, landscapes and suggestive abstracts are his forte. He travels a lot to pick his subjects and draw inspiration for his paintings. Recently, he spent about 10 days in Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh to study the unique architecture and ethnic peculiarities of the region.
Kudalayya has held his solo exhibitions in Pune and Bengaluru since 2011 and they have received immense response from the general public as well as the cognoscenti.
A Solo Exhibition was organized by him at ‘JEHANGIR ART GALLERY’ Mumbai , 2013
