Maester, born on March 7, 1959 in Cheragas (Algeria), is a cartoonist and screenwriter of French comics.
He is the creator of the characters Athanagor Wurlitzer and Sister Marie-Therese des Batignolles.

Fan from his earliest years, comic book magazines such as Spirou, Le Journal de Tintin or later Pilote (where he discovers his mentors and major influences: Albert Uderzo, Gotlib, Jean Mulatier ...) 1982 in the comic strip and joined the team of the magazine Fluide glacial.
There he was born, his principal characters, Athanagor Wurlitzer and Sister Marie Therese des Batignolles.
In 1997, he took over the character of Inspector Charolles, a recurring character with Commissioner Bougret of Gotlib's Rubrique a Brac, where Charolles appears (as in the original comic strip) under the guise of Gotlib, and is assisted by Inspector Piggs, who is none other than the caricature of Maester himself.
Caricaturist, influenced by Les Grandes Gueules (Patrice Ricord, Jean-Claude Morchoisne and Mulatier).
In some of his stories, he parodies the police parody and draws the stars of cinema and television in the manner of the authors of Mad2 magazine.
After his departure from Fluide glacial after 22 years of presence, he joined L'echo des savanes and pre published the sixth volume of the adventures of Sister Marie des Batignolles.
Glenat having bought the catalog of comic book of Albin Michel, it is from now on this publisher that it publishes the main part of its work.
The drawings of his blog were published at Le Lombard and in their newspaper The Strip, then at Drugstore (The First Year Worse).
In 2011, Maester decided to create the Valentine editions to publish other works, including a first collective album of caricatures: Wanted! Caricature & Western3.
In September 2015, he suffered a stroke, after which he could not visit the Bedecine festival in Illzach in November4.
He is currently in rehabilitation and prepares his return, "alive and motivated! "In his own words.
