Your biography in 3 lines

Born in Santo Domingo on 30/06/1971. I attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Santo Domingo and then I continued studying visual art at 'UNPHU University of Santo Domingo (Dominican Rep.). Currently I live and work in Italy.

 

 What was your first satirical cartoon?

-My First caricature I made to my father at the age of thirteen.

 

 

 

When did you start your professional working?

-I Started as an illustrator of school books for the Ministry of Education of my country in 1992.

 

 What was your first prize?

- A caricature of the President of the Dominican Rep., Which was published in a local weekly.

 

What was your last prize?

-In 1990, he is taking part in a competition of Fine Arts exposing a figurative work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

How do you find new ideas?

-on current events, attentive to international news.

  

Whats your idea about Inevitable Similarities?

- Difficult to maintain their own style without being influenced by other artists, but this is the secret of success.

 

What do you think about plagiarism?

-The Plagiarism does not contribute anything to the art world.

 

 

 

 

Who is the best Cartoonist in your country?

-They Are many artists I love, one of my favorites: Ramon Oviedo, and Hache.

 

Do you think who is the best foreign caicaturist?

- Sebastian Kruger. best foreign artists in my opinion.

 

What's the best cartoon that you've ever seen? If possible send it to us.

- The complexity of the job.

 

What are your tools and technique for creating artwork?

- I manage all types of materials: watercolor, pencil, ink, pastel, oil, acrylic, digital painting.

 

 

 

 

 

Which software do you use?

-adobe Photoshop, Corel painter.

 

What's your recommendation to your colleagues?

-Working Restless.

 

What do you think about cartoon situation in the world?

-The Situation is very interesting because of the political turmoil in world economic and religious.

 

 

 

 

 

Did you ever had problems with your carticatures?

-No Absolutely, I have always worked respecting the subject.

 

 What was your best caricature?

-I Have a caricature favorite, I love all my work.

 

Have you ever been jury member in any Caricature contest?

-Yes, For two titles in a Rep.Dominicana and in Italy.

 

 Have you ever worked in cooperation with another artist?

-Yes, I have participated in several group in his youth.

 

What's your idea about Irancartoon website?

-I Seems an excellent site.

 

 If you were born again what did you choose as your career?

- I would do it again ever the caricaturist.

 

Do you think whats the boarder between Cartoon and Caricature?

- Thin thread that links the two.

 

What and when was your last exhibition? 

-The Last week in Rome for a cultural event called "Art in the Cellar"

 

 

 

 

 

 Who's your favorite artist except in cartoon world?

-Jean Michel Basquiat.

 

 What was the last book you've read?

-If This is a Man by Primo Levi.

 

 Do you think humor can be learned?

-I Think it's a natural gift, which then goes refined so hard.

 

 What's your idea about Black Humor?

-This Is a very sensitive issue that must be addressed with great tact, understanding and respect for different cultures.

 

What was your last performed Caricature?

- Isabelle Fuhrman.
