Maciej Trzepałka – Cartoonist and illustrator. Born in 1963 inZabrze. W 1987 r.
Graduated from the University of Silesia in Katowice. As a cartoonist he made his debut in the weekly "Tak i Nie". Jako rysownik debiutował w tygodniku „Tak i Nie” w 1986 r.
He published his cartoons in many Polish magazines such as „Gazeta Wyborcza”, „Taki i Nie”, „Głos Przyrody”, „Naj”, „Mój Pies”, „Kwak”, magazyn „Autoklub”, „Tina”, „Wiadomości Wędkarskie”, „Las Polski”, „Drwal”, „Jagodnik”, „Świerszczyk”. He illustrated school textbooks for: Videograf, Juka-91, MAC Edukacja, Nowa Era, Gdańskie Wydawnictwo Pedagogiczne and also children's books: Maciej Trzepałka „Kosmiczna żabka”, Małgorzata Strękowska-Zaremba „Abecelki i Duch Bursztynowego Domu”, Janusz Dunin „Stefek Burczymucha i inne niezapomniane wiersze”, Agnieszka Galica „Zmartwienie Anatola”.The creatore of the characters of Lucynka and Zając Kicaj in the children's magazine "Świerszczyk" and the reporter Kacper in the quarterly "Voice of Nature". Since 2002 he has been an active participant and a laureate of national and international satirical drawing competitions. He took part in many collective exhibitions of illustrations and comics. His first solo exhibition was in Zabrze in the Municipal Museum.
His works are in the collections of such museums as: Museum of Caricature in Warsaw, Satyrykon Gallery in Legnica, Resursa Gallery in Żyrardów, Cyprian Norwid Public Library in Zielona Góra, Cultural Centre in Niemodlin and also in the collections in Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Sweden, Belgium, Czech Republic, Turkey, India, China and Slovakia.
