The jury of the
first Lavasan Cartoon Festival selected the best cartoons
regarding the main composition and theme of the works and
also technical criteria and relation of works to the festival’s theme:

First place:
Jamal Rahmati
– memento of the festival and 7 gold coins
Specialty:
a bitter but effective description of the destruction of the
environment
and nature, fabulous composition, use of suitable colors to describe the theme
Second place:
Firouzeh Mozaffari – memento of the festival and 5 gold coins
Specialty:
Focusing on lockage of the green, appropriate perspective
full coordination with the theme of the festival and great care and
delicacy in designation of the cartoon

place:
Alireza Ansari – memento of the festival and 3 gold coins

A humorous and new viewpoint regarding destruction of the

and nature, point of view compatible with the theme, carefully done designation

Travelers of “Golagha’s Expedition & Rout” Got to the Destination
The winners of the second
International Cartoon Contest on the subject of
“Goagha’s Expedition & Rout” were announced. At a ceremony held in the presence
of the minister
of Transportation in Homa Hotel in Tehran, he wanted the cultural officials of
the country to make an effort to re-establish now banned journal,
“golagha” weekly magazine. According to ISNA, the winners are:
First place, Ivan Kotozov (from Bulgaria), Lurek Verniman (from Belgium) $1500
Second place, Massoud Ziai Zard Khashouei and Ali Radmand 9from Iran) $1000
Third place, Konstantin Chiouso (from Romania) $1000
It is worth to mention that 13 selected cartoons won honorable mention.
Also Mahdi Karimzadeh and Banafsheh Bayat were announced as
selected cartoonists of “children’s &Young Adults” section of the contest

most of the journals and newspapers he was working for them are banned.
