Pascal Merlet
Pascal Merlet was born in Angers in 1969.
He has always painted, travelled extensively in the American Continent and Africa.
Back at Angers, his first works are drawings, illustrations and cartoons.
He collaborates for a time with « Angers journal ».
In 2001 he becames a professionnal painter.
He takes part in severall exhibitions and exhibits in severall galleries in France and also in Canada.
He was often invited as a guest and receved awards for his original work.
In 2005, Pascal Merlet opens a workshop in Indre French department where he lives and works today.
Following a period of time where Pascal Merlet retraces the souvenirs of his travels in his paintings, today he expresses himself in a fantasmagorical universe.
Animal often play a central rôle. Human figures are frequently accompanied by an animal to represent the humorous side of the painter.
His caricatures are puffed by emotions.
Pascal Merlet works with oil, acrylic and mixt techniques.
His paintings are colourfull and vibrant but at the same time have a softened aspect. The back grounds are intricate mosaïcs and arabesques which give a precious touch to the pictures.
