Roman Michel - France
I was born in 1957 in Nimes (France), from a very modest family I have four brothers. I discovered the Comic Strip as soon as I could read thanks to a priest who was a great lover of Franco Belgian comics.
As a teenager, I decided to move on to creation, short stories created with colored pencils.
Returning from military service, I draw my first album Dupond de la Jungle which remains unpublished.
Then an encounter with a humorous cartoonist makes me take a first turn in the field of humorous drawing.
In parallel, I pursue a career as a newspaper designer in specialized magazines and magazines in Languedoc.
I create on demand, posters and illustrations for the commercial sector and the associative sector.
I won several international prizes and in 1991, I won the cow humor prize in Saint Just le Martel (Limoges).
In 2014, I started a comic book, after 35 years of posing, and In 2015 I released The treasure of Saint Pons a Historical humoristic album.
The style has become professional and the comic is a tribute to Uderzo and Goscinny as much by the drawing as by the scenario.
Since then, I have been running workshops for adults and children to give the foundation so that everyone can do their own comics.
