Ludo has been active for 30 years as a cartoonist-illustrator and collected now more than 75 national and international awards (including the 2009 Silver Hat and in 2010 the Golden Hat at the International Cartoon Festival in Knokke-Heist) and honorable mentions and a bookcase full of cartoon books.
 
He signed eight years of political cartoons for the newspaper De Standaard and was the only Belgian in the editions of 1993 and 1994 of "The Finest International Political Cartoons of Our Time - Witty World Books." He signed contracts for VRT, Columbia Pictures, publishing houses, local authorities and companies (InBev, Ecover, Nestle, ...) and is a regular member of competition juries. He had a retrospective in 2003 in Osaka, Japan in 2007 and in the Commercial Center Dolce Vita in Porto, Portugal.
 
His humor goes from mild to wild-poetic brutal. "If the sense of humor is proportional, everything draw," said Ludo. "It is also a very enjoyable outlet for frustrations, social criticism and improper thoughts. All wrapped in humor it is palatable and acceptable. "
