Pablo Lobato - Argentina
Pablo Lobato, known simply as Pablo, began his career as a graphic designer after studying design at the National University of La Plata in Argentina.
After university, for the first five years of his career, he created editorial design for magazines. Pablo discovered graphic design wasn’t his passion.
What he is passionate about is illustration.
Born in Trelew, Patagonia, Argentina, the 47-year-old illustrator chose to draw superheroes and medieval knights instead of playing soccer with his friends when he was young.
At the age of twelve, Pablo drew a portrait of the coach of the national soccer team in Argentina, Cesar Luis Menotti. The response to his drawing was overwhelming. Pablo discovered his true love: portraits.
Since the day he first began working as an illustrator, Pablo has never looked back. He met Anna Goodson of Anna Goodson Illustration Agency and his illustration career took off.
Today, Pablo is a well-recognized name in Buenos Aires, Argentina and some might say around the world.
He’s created portraits of music superstars: Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Prince, Kanye West, Iggy Pop and many others.
His portraits have appeared in Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Time, Wired, Billboard magazine, the Village Voice, The New York Times, Forbes, Texas Monthly, The Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune and Entertainment Weekly.
Pablo’s bold and colorful portraits capture his subjects with verve and a vitality that keeps his fans wanting more.
Whether Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner for The New Yorker, Alec Baldwin and Steve Harvey for the Village Voice, or Kobe Bryant and Lebron James for Nike, Pablo is front-page news.
