Frank Hoppmann - Germany
Frank Hoppmann (born April 2, 1975 in Lingen) is a German draftsman, cartoonist and illustrator.
Hoppmann grew up in Emsburen in Emsland and attended the Gymnasium Georgianum in Lingen (Ems).
After graduation in 1994, he studied design with a focus on drawing, illustration and printmaking at the University of Applied Sciences Munster.
During his studies, he devoted himself extensively to the art of drawing, worked and so on.
as a court artist for television and daily newspapers.
Already in 1997 he published the first drawings in the satirical magazine Eulenspiegel.
In 2002 he graduated with a diploma in Liquor Hobby Has Many Faces, a satirical, socio critical series with over 50 large format portraits and around 200 sketches of drunken women and men.
Since 2002 he works freelance as a draftsman.
In 2007 he received the Artist Scholarship of Emsland Landscape e.V .
associated with this were longer work stays at Schloss Clemenswerth and in a Nordhorn town park villa.
This was followed by numerous exhibitions and exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
In 2015, Berliner Schaltzeit Verlag developed the children's book The Adventures of Pit and Peggs The Journey to the Flower Parade in collaboration with the author Dörte Grimm and Frank Hoppmann.
Originally it was a children's story for a cartoon from 1936, designed by the Jewish painter Felix Nussbaum together with his friend Michael Loewen.
The cartoon with the characters Pit and Peggs, however, never came about.
But 29 black and white photographs of the original drawings have been preserved.
