3rd International Santa Maria cartoon contest

Regulation

Deadline: August 7, 2007

Participation
Professional or amateur artists can participate of "Santa Maria Cheia de Graça" through original works and accompanied by their register. Each participant will be able to inscribe in one or more categories with a maximum of 2 (two) works per category with free thematic.

Register
The registers will be opened in the period from May 7th to August 7th of 2007, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at

The sent works will have to be there on the limit date (not depending on the posting date).
The works must be putted into closed envelopes, handed or sent by mail. On the verse of the envelope there must be the following data:
ADDRESS, COMPLETE NAME, CATEGORY, TITLE OF THE WORK.
Each work must be accompanied by a register which can be the original or just a copy.
Also, the works made in computer will be considered as originals.
The works must have as its maximum size 30cm x 42cm, in colors or black and white.
The comic works must have till 3 (three) pages (maximum of 30cm x 42cm) or stripes in equivalent spaces.
The Organizer Commission won’t take responsibility for the works that arrive damaged and/or not identified because the same must be putted into resistant pickings.

Selection and Judging Commission
The selection will be done by a commission composed by 3 (three) till 5 (five) professionals on the area designed by the Judging Commission, since the selected works will take part of the exhibition.
The reward jury will be composed by 3 (three) till 5 (five) recognized humor draftsmen.
To de Judging Commission fits the right to give no reward in some of the categories.

Reward
The Organizer Commission will offer the following

Rewards:
Big award to the prominent work: R$ 2.500,00
1st award – Caricature Category: R$ 2.500,00
1st award – Editorial Cartoon Category: R$ 2.500,00
1st award - Cartoon (GAG) Category: R$ 2.500,00
1st award – Comic Strip Category: R$ 2.500,00
1st award – Comics Category: R$ 2.500,00
The big award to the prominent work will be given to one of the prize-winning on the five categories.
The prize-winning works will integrate the “Santa Maria Cheia de Graça” and all rights of use upon them will be acquired, automatically, by the organizers.

Works Devolution
The works selected must be withdrawn from Chili Comunicação e cultura till 30 (thirty) workdays after the ending of the selection.
The artist that doesn’t live in Santa Maria and that desires to receive his/her work on the end of the selection or of the Saloon through the Post-Office must send a stamped envelope annexed to the register having in the front of it his/her complete data.
On the moment at which the works were delivered in the Post-Office finishes the responsibility of the promoting organs.
The works that were not taken till the dates anticipated will be reverted in favor of the organizers.

General Dispositions
The works selected can’t be withdrawn or altered till the end of the Saloon.
Members of the Organizer and Judging Commissions can’t participate of the Saloon.
The exposed works are not covered from disasters of any nature.
The omitted cases on this regulation will be solved by the Organizer and Judging Commissions.
The Organizer and the Judging Commissions are sovereign on their attributions. Won’t be accepted any type of resource to the selected and winner results.
