are announcing in the categories, the themes:
1. THE PORTRAIT CARICATURE "ŽIKIŠON" WITHOUT WORDS. How do caricaturists imagine "Žikišon" and his life time? (NOTE: For photo of Zhikishon, ask organization!)
2. THE
CARICATURE WITHOUT WORDS – FREE FORM. For both of
categories you can send up to 3 works on A/4 size of paper, up to
200 KB by E-mail, any technique is allowed.
3. THE SHORT ALTERNATIVE COMIC STRIP – FREE FORM. A
board needs to content up to 6 squares , A/3 format, up 400 KB by
E-mail, any technique is allowed, up to 3 boards in a work or 3
boards of a single strip.
The competition will be opened and free for all of the professionals and amateurs, for affirmed and unknown authors from 7 to 77 years of age, for all people on this planet but in the case if someone appears from other planet then we will become the first interplanetary competition.
AWARDS:
The first award in each of three categories - an independance
exhibit of caricature/ strip with our arrangement and printed
catalog including a special charter "Žikišon" and a presentation on
a particular page on the site www.artija.net
.
The second award in each of three categories – a group exhibit of
selected works with our arrangement and printed catalog including a
special charter "Žikišon" and a presentation on a particular page on
the site www.artija.net .

All of received works will not be returned to the senders. The
organisator of this project keeps the right for using and publishing

winners of this project will be proclaimed and the project will be
taken up in its realisation on

“Buena Salud” magazine invite all graphical humorists worldwide to
participate in the contest “For your health, do not smoke”
Contest
rules:
INTERNATIONAL contest OF GRAPHICAL HUMOUR: For your health, do not smoke.
The objective of the contest is to emphasize the importance of graphical humour in the public health prevention, especially in the fulfilment of the Tobacco Control Act, approved in September 2005, by the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires.
Graphical humour is a genre of journalism that lends itself well to
social commitment, inspiring the reflection and the action. This is
a call to humorously raise awareness of a smoke free possibility,
healthy, non-smoking future without victims of second-hand smoke.
Bases of the Contest:
Organizer: Buena Salud Magazine
Subject of the Contest: For your health, do not smoke.
Who participate? Graphical humorists of all nationalities will be able to participate, without age limits.
Amount of pieces: Each participant will be able to send up to two (2) pieces.
Characteristics of the original work: The work will have to be an unpublished original art. (Neither CDs nor copies will be accepted)
Each work will have a unique dimension of A4 210x297centimeters or A3 297x420 centimetres mounted in cardboard.
The technique to use is free. Colour or Black and white
Deadline: The original works have to be sent by mail or to be given until 1st October 2006, in San Juan 499, CP 1147, City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The author will have to send his work with a biography or curriculum vitae (no more than 1000 characters), printed in A4 format and accompanied by a photo-picture (12x9 or similar).
Of the juries: The jury will be integrated by: Oskar Blotta (president), Publishing Consultant of Buena Salud magazine, and the recognized graphical humorists, Andrés Cascioli, Crist, Garaycochea. The jury will fail 20th October, 2006. The opinion of the jury will be unappeasable.
Prizes: The first prize will have an allocation of us$ 1500, Two second us$ 500 prizes each. The jury will be able to declare up to two special mentions.
Catalogue: The jury will choose at least 1 (one) work of each participant to comprise the catalogue of the exhibition.
Exhibition: The selection and show of the art works will be exhibited in a special event, November 2006, where the jury will fail and deliver prizes.
Rights and obligations: All participants of the graphical humor
contest accept and will opportunely sign the following rules:
1) Deadline for the delivery of works: 1st October
2006, up to 6 PM. All works sent through post office will have
to certify the date and reception time in Av. San Juan 499, CP 1147,
City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
2) The original works will only be given back to those artists who pick them up personally at Av. San Juan 499, Buenos Aires City, Argentina.
3) The author yields the rights of exhibition of the sent works as well as the ones published in the Catalogue of the Contest.
4) The failure of the jury is unappealable.
The winners accept to yield their rights over the winning works for their publication in Buena Salud Magazine, as well as in posters, banners of Internet or Web pages, for their diffusion.

Sixth International Caricature Contest Independence - (July 25th 2006)

Terms and Conditions
1. The topic of the contest is "Independence and ecology. Chernobyl - nuclear disaster 20 years after".
2. There are no limitations on the execution technique, however, photocopies and works in electronic format won't be accepted.
3. Caricatures should not contain any dialogues.
4. Required format: A4 (297x210 mm).
5. No more than 3 entries from a contestant.
6. The back of the entry should contain author's name, address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address.
7. The deadline is July 25th 2006.
8. An application with a photo is required should be submitted along with the entries.
9. The organizers are not responsible for any postal damage. The submitted works won't be returned and can be used by organizers for publications, advertising, distribution and merchandise.
10. Prizes: 1st place - USD 300, 2nd place - USD 250, 3rd place - USD 200, 10 awards of success.
11.The organizers will contact the winner after the contest. The submitted entries will be included in a publication. Each entrant whose work is published will receive a free copy.
12. By participating in the contest the applicant accepts the terms and conditions and agrees with jury's decision.
13. Please spread the news about the contest to everyone interested.

The Organizers are not responsible for damage
or loss during transportation!
The winners as well as cartoonists qualified to participate in the post-competition
exhibiton shall be provided with a free copy of a catalogue published by the Organizers.
The Organizers provide the competition prize winners with free acccomodation
and boarding during the exhibition event.
The winners receive their prizes on condition that they are either present
at the opening of the post competition exhibition or
else they indicate a bank account where the money is to be transfered.
The works become the property of the Organizers
and shall be included in the collection of the “False Mirror”
gallery located in KOKIS “ZAMEK”.
Every participant in the competition agrees to their free of fees delivery
of works to the “False Mirror” gallery.
Every work delivered to the competition ought to be accompanied (on the reverse)
with the author’s signature, address and a telephone number.
By sending their works to the competition the participants agree
to the abovementioned regulations and they further agree
to the free of fees publication of their works for marketing
purposes connected with the competition and post
competition exhibition.
The exhibition organisers are the final judges in the interpretation of these regulations.
By sending his/her works and taking part in the competition
the artist agrees to the abovementioned rules and regulations.

26th Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest-Turkey (July 25, 2006)
Turkey
1) The contest is open to all cartoonists.
2) The cartoons might be already published, but they shouldnt have
been awarded in any other contest.
3) The theme of the cartoons is PEACE.
4) The participants may send only one work.
5) The dimensions of works should be maximum 30 x 40 cm and only
originals are accepted.
6) Name, surname, address, phone no, (if possible) fax no and e-mail
of the participant should be written on the back of each cartoon.
Also a short CV of the participant should be attached.
7) Deadline: JULY 25, 2006.
8) The results will be announced on August 10, 2006.
9) The participating cartoons will be kept at the Cartoon and Humour
Museum of Istanbul by the Association of Cartoonists.
10) The participating cartoons will be put in an album. The cartoons
for the album and the exhibition will be selected by the jury. The
album will be sent to the cartoonists whose piece of work are
exhibited and published in the album.
11) The Prizes: Grand Prize 3.000 $, 4 Honour Prizes: 750 $ each,
Special Prize of Nasreddin Hodja: for a cartoon with theme Nasreddin
Hodja Special Prizes: offered by various establishments,
associations, newspapers, art magazines, trade unions and agencies.
12) Participants are considered to have accepted all the conditions.
