Fifty three year old Esmail Abbasi was born in Taleghan, Iran.
He has a B.A. degree in newspaper reporting from
the social communications faculty of Allameh Tabataie University.
Being a reporter, cartoonist and an art critic,
he has been selected for the Jury panel of more than 9 national cartoon contests.
And has also been on the jury panel of the national annual festival.
Abbasi has judged three international cartoon contests:
The human and nature cartoon contest 1996,
The first Palestinians are Homeless cartoon contest 2000
and The City Complexities cartoon contest 2004
which he was also the Director of this contest.
Esmail Abbasi has been selected best Journalist in favor
of the environment, from the Environmental
Organizations for the years: 1998, 1999 and 2001.
