“Alireza Bagheri by 16 years old
is one of the phenomenons in Iran’s Cartoon”

I wanted to write something about Alireza Bagheri but I saw that he has written a nice text in his web log, so I’ve used his own text.
I know that he is not more than 16 years old and is deaf but he is very successful in cartoon field, and I can say that he is one of Iran cartoon’s phenomenon:
I am Alireza Bagheri, 16 years old. I’m the student of Ershad high school in Gorgan.
I’m the last child of an 8 member family. In my family we have two other deaf children. One of my sisters and one of my brothers are deaf too. I was fond of painting from childhood and my hobby was painting. I’ve started painting from cartoons of Footballers, and because I loved this TV program I was always drawing these cartoons. It was the beginning of my professional painting. My sister that is graduated in graphic helped me a lot. In fact the encouragements of her and my professor helped me a lot. I’ve tried to learn other arts too, such as Moarag (that is making beautiful things by wood pieces.) And I was also successful in it. By help of god and my family I could reach to this position.

I’ve participated in different gatherings in Gorgan city and I draw alive there.
International contest of” youth Visual Arts in Islamic World” by Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry was the first competition that I’ve participated in and I won the First Prize of this contest in Caricature Section.

I’ve to thank my professor Mr. Abbaspour. My success is because of his helps. I want to be the best in cartoon and drawing, so I try a lot. My best caricature was the picture of Ardeshir Rostami one of the jurors of this contest that was chosen as the best work and won the first prize. In this contest many cartoonists from different cities of Iran participated and I was the youngest cartoonist.
