A Glance  To  The  8^th  Tehran  International  Cartoon Biennial-2007

 in press meeting announced :"Establishments  of  Cartoon Biennials  in Iran were able to bring up themselves  in global networks and so raise the art of cartoon in Iran .

Establishing 7 regular and effective Tehran International Cartoon Biennials in Iran were able to gain special unexpected opportunities , and presence of 85 countries from all over the world proves this claim , and now  we are facing the 8^th Biennial.

In the 8^th Cartoon Biennial , 906 cartoonists and Caricaturists an from Iran and 740 from other countries sent
their artworks for this international competition .

In the 8^th Tehran International Cartoon Biennial , China by 85  cartoonists has the most participants among the foreign countries ;Turkey (72)  , Italy (60) ,Poland (33).

Iranian cartoonists by 3128  and foreign cartoonists by 2443  artworks took part in this biennial , so it shows 5571 artworks in total .

We have to say that in 7^th Cartoon Biennial participants were from 66 countries and the increasing of foreign artists in the 8^th biennial shows its place and importance among similar events in the world .

In this Biennial in addition to the announced awards , a Special Prize(1000 $ and Honorable mention)
will be given to the caricature of  "Luciano Pavarotti",Also the Fanofunny web site from Italy gives a precious Trophy to best Young cartoonist or caricaturist.

The opening ceremony is on November 19 ,2007 and the closing ceremony for giving awards is on December 13,2007."
