The results of the 23rd Aydın Doğan
International Cartoon Contest

 

The international jury for the 23rd Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Contest, organized by the Aydın Doğan Foundation, will convene in Antalya on June 19, the contest's organizers announced on Friday. 
 

The jury will judge 159 caricatures by 141 artists from 37 countries. 

  A total of 1,187 artists from 83 countries entered 3,212 caricatures this year, reported the Anatolia news agency, with 159 of them deemed worthy of final consideration by the jury.

  The competition's jury, on which 180 veteran caricaturists from Turkey and abroad have so far served, consists of  Brad Holland (USA ), Semih Balcioglu(Turkey), Steve Brodner (USA), Latif Demirci(Turkey), Selcuk Demirel(Turkey), Husamettin Kocan(Turkey), Leng Mu (China.), Tan Oral Turkey), Mostafa Ramezani (Iran), Tignous (France).

  The winning caricatures and those deemed worthy of exhibition will be on display in Antalya on June 21-28.

   Twelve artists Gatto Alessandro (Italia), Valentin Georgiev (Bulgariaa), Ludo Goderis (Belgium), Mihai Ignat (Romania), Lubica Konkova ( Slovakia), Mahmood Nazari (Iran), Julian Pena Pai (Romania), Wei Tie Sheng (China), Dmytro Skazhenik (Ukraine), Muhammet Sengoz (Turkey), Sevket Yalaz (Turkey) will be named for honorable mentions. All artists who place will also receive statues as symbols of their success and certificates.

  Awards will be presented at a ceremony at Istanbul's Tophane-i Admire Culture and Art Center on Nov.
